Health & Safety – Physical & Mental

The RBA has a role to play in protecting its members’ employment interests and this can go far beyond improving conditions at work and assisting with grievances and disciplinary cases. Maintaining good general Health & Safety is also a vital part of our remit, and this extends to being there for members who suffer from poor mental health.

Our role in workplaces

Maintenance of good Health & Safety practices at work to look after our members and any other persons such as non-members and customers on premises where we have members.

Our role in individual health matters

We have a strong duty of care to protect the health and wellbeing of all members, and provide a wide range of advice and assistance, all in strict confidence.

Mental Health & Wellbeing

We also have a care for the mental health of our members, and we currently have two qualified Mental Health First Aiders who are available to provide support and information for any person in a crisis. They can be contacted by members by telephone, text, or email. We can then advise and assist by telephone or in person.

The majority of our Delegates have also attended courses in mental health first aid.
